What you will do:

The Site Reliability Engineer takes care of the uptime of Experian Platforms Software: ExperianOne – Experian's Cloud SaaS offering for Decision Analytics and Fraud specific platforms.

In this role you will report to the Site Reliability Engineering Manager.

  • Spot problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Partner with development teams or equivalent to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a view of system health.
  • Make monitoring and alerting notify on symptoms and not on outages.
  • Efficiently triage issues and find owners for problem resolution.
  • Identify and resolve root causes, replacing manual steps with sustainable solutions.
  • Lead and supports coordinated incident response to restore service availability.
  • Write complex queries using various tools.
  • Maintain strong relationships with other members of the Regional SRE teams and also with Global SRE team around the globe.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and third parties who support backing applications.
  • Collaborate with developers, security and architects to build and improve maintainable solutions.
  • Maintaining the systems - edge cases, failure modes, behaviours, specific implementations.

Oncall duty during daytime on weekends once a month or less.

Experience and Skills

What you are expected to bring:

  • Excellent level of English with colleagues across the globe.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Site reliability engineer.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Working across boundaries - geographically, teams, language and cultural .
  • Quickly adapts to new tools, frameworks, and methodologies through hands-on experimentation and learning.
  • Cloud aware - you understand how cloud technologies differ from other technical approaches and are able to explain these to others.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, High availability principles
  • Direct experience of supporting complex, highly scaled systems in production
  • Linux knowledge, troubleshooting and predicting issues in advance.
  • Networking, troubleshooting and monitoring.
  • Cloud Native application designs for scalability and resilience.
  • Incident Management and co-ordination, Blameless PIRs
  • Kubernetes, EKS, Splunk, Dynatrace, Thousand Eyes, ServiceNow, Jira, Jenkins, Python.
  • Java, Cassandra, Redis, Apigee, Okta, Postgres, AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Infrastructure as Code, Git Ops.
