Role Overview – Software Engineer (Data-Focused Applications)

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with a foundation in data-centric application development. This role is ideal for someone who succeeds at the intersection of software engineering and data engineering, with the ability to build both frontend and backend applications that work with modern data platforms. You'll work with tools like Snowflake, dbt, AWS, and SQL, and contribute to intelligent data workflows that may include AI/ML integration. You will report to the Software Development Manager.

Note: This is a data-focused software engineering role—ideal for developers who are passionate about building applications that process, transform, and visualize data.

Responsibilities

  • Build frontend applications using JavaScript/TypeScript (e.g., React) to visualize and work with data.
  • Develop backend APIs and services using Node.js or Python to support data workflows and analytics.
  • Implement business logic and data automation using Snowflake stored procedures, UDFs, and tasks.
  • Design dbt models for Snowflake to support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
  • Write and improve SQL queries for data transformation, aggregation, and validation.
  • Use AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Glue to manage data ingestion and automation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows using CloudWatch and logging tools.
  • Integrate pre-trained ML models or APIs into applications for features like recommendations or predictions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize models in a production environment.
  • Participate in code reviews, version control, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Use Jira and Confluence for agile development and documentation.
