Lead Developer – Summary

As a Lead Developer at Experian, you'll design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions, translating business needs into technical specifications. You’ll lead complex programming tasks, ensure robust testing, and support integration and deployment. The role involves:

  • Technical Leadership: Designing systems, writing complex code, and mentoring junior developers.
  • Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams, providing technical consultancy, and supporting pre/post-sales.
  • Project Delivery: Estimating, planning, and managing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Promoting learning, conducting demos, and leading knowledge sessions.
  • Customer Focus: Ensuring solutions meet customer needs and regulatory standards.

You’ll need to thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment, helping shape the future of Experian’s products and services.

Qualifications

·       B.Sc. in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent degree.

 Desirable Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in IBM Mainframe Application Development.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment using a Scrum or Kanban approach.
  • Experience of the full development lifecycle.

·       Strong Software development and analysis skills

  • Ability to write clean, scalable code, applying design patterns and best practices.

·       Demonstrable experience in IBM Mainframe development technologies and software engineering best practices

o   COBOL

o   CICS

o   JCL

o   VSAM

o   DB2

o   Tools such as Changeman, CA-7, JIRA and File Manager.

o   Knowledge of Assembler/PL 1 would be useful.
