Head of Performance Marketing

We're looking for a proven Performance Marketing expert to join our Consumer Services division to drive our growth initiatives using our core performance channels across Paid Search, Display and Affiliate Partnerships.

Reporting to Performance Marketing Director, you will be responsible for driving performance through paid channels to align with the overarching marketing strategy and acquisition goals.

We are at an important moment for the business to step change how consumers perceive our brand to drive our long-term growth goals. You will manage key focus areas which deliver against sales targets across subscription and Marketplace products (e.g. Loans, Credit Cards) during this period of change.

 

Responsibilities:

Own and scale the performance marketing strategy

  • Develop and execute a performance marketing strategy focused on driving high-quality leads and conversions across paid channels.
  • Deeply understand customer motivations, audience types and search behaviour to inform targeting, messaging, and channel mix.
  • Ensure all channels are using best-in-class measurement and optimisation strategies, working closely with our product and compliance teams to refine customer messages and achieve results.

Channel ownership: core performance channels driving short term response

  • Full accountability for optimisation, spend and efficiency on channels including Paid Search, Meta, Display, PMAX, Demand Gen, GAC/ASA, Affiliates.
  • Oversee development of performance measurement and channel profitability to inform spend, audience targeting and optimal channel mixes.

Team and Agency Management

  • Build a high-performing team comprised of 4 performance marketers and analysts.
  • Closely manage agency relationships and third-party platforms to ensure optimal outputs, strategic alignment and ROI on multi-million pound media budgets. Lead agency AI implementation team to ensure scalability.

Performance Analytics & Forecasting

  • Define and track key acquisition metrics; rigorously measure and report on performance, insights, and optimisations. This role will be required to provide performance updates in senior meetings. Build dashboards and models to forecast performance and guide budget decisions.

Conversion & Funnel Optimisation

  • Analyse performance across channels and user journeys to identify friction points and drop-offs.

Experience and Skills

  • Extensive experience delivering customer growth through performance marketing channels.
  • Ownership of multi-million pound media budget to deliver effective and efficient results.
  • Experience developing top performing Digital Marketing specialists.
  • Strong agency management and data driven thinking to deliver good outputs.
  • Strong commercial understanding with hands-on an ability to deep-dive performance data
  • Experience of successful acquisitions and integrations.
  • Strong marketing and ability to think strategically
  • Deep understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour, and brand positioning
