The Engineering Excellence & Transformation Manager is a program manager responsible for shaping, driving, and governing engineering productivity, quality, and SDLC modernization across Experian’s North America Technology organization. Operating with executive-level visibility, this role partners directly with CTOs, Product Engineering Leaders, and BU Technology Leadership Teams to define priorities, align strategies, and execute multi-year engineering transformation roadmaps.

You will be require to be a leader who can influence at all levels from senior executives to engineering teams while driving clarity, alignment, and measurable outcomes across complex, matrixed organizations. You will provide strategic direction, orchestrates cross-functional delivery, and ensures disciplined program execution across initiatives that uplift developer experience, engineering quality, automation maturity, AI-assisted development, and overall technology productivity.

The ideal candidate blends strong program leadership, deep engineering understanding, and exceptional communication skills. They will set the operating rhythm for engineering excellence programs, guide teams through organizational change, and ensure that engineering transformation initiatives deliver meaningful, measurable impact for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering productivity using Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, and Agile principles.
  • Analyze and optimize software development processes, identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Promote best practices across SDLC disciplines including unit testing, automation, CI/CD reliability, static analysis, and security scanning.
  • Assess, pilot, and scale AI coding assistant tools (i.e., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).
  • Integrate Agentic AI and GenAI into SDLC workflows for code generation, documentation, and testing.
  • Lead multi-year Technology Productivity strategies and cross-BU engineering excellence initiatives.
  • Establish operating rhythms, dashboards, and governing structures for engineering excellence programs.
  • Leverage Experian’s standardized Engineering productivity and quality measurement tool.
  • Prepare insights for monthly CTO Engineering Excellence report-outs.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as Veracode, SonarQube, Harness, and others.
  • Communicate productivity savings, capacity creation, and quality improvements to senior leadership.
  • Support Global Technology improvement initiatives.

Experience and Skills

 

  • Prior experience as a Program Manager for software development or engineering transformation programs.
  • Experience with full SDLC inclusive of test automation, refactoring, debugging, build systems, or testing frameworks.
  • Experience using Veracode, SonarQube, Harness, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native development (AWS or Azure preferred).
  • Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or comparable source-control, CI/CD platforms, and GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.).
  • Experience working in an Agile SCRUM development environment.
  • Understanding of programming fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience, process mapping, and workshop facilitation.
