Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

• You will work as part of an agile team to develop quality solutions Collaborating effectively to enhance the full product lifecycle
• You will review proposals, evaluating alternatives, providing estimates and making recommendations
• You will serve as an expert on applications and providing technical support Revising, updating, refactoring and debugging greenfield and established codebases
• You will report to the Senior Manager

Experience/Skills:

• Experience of the full development lifecycle
• Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners with the ability to explain solutions to all audiences
• The ability to work with offshore teams from different cultures and backgrounds
• Write clean, scalable code, with a view towards design patterns and security best practices, experience ensuring that code meets all functionality and acceptance criteria, with the ability to analyse problems and requirements
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Experience with continually pushing and improving how we build/test/prove our services
• You will have considerable experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems in regulated environments (finance and insurance industries).

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of industry experience in Java Development
• Experience in scripting/programming languages like Ruby Java. Ruby
• BSc Science or Engineering degree.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub / GitLab and developing Git branching approaches
