Description and Responsibilities

 

  • You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to your manager. 
  • This is individual contributor (Non-Managerial) role 
  • Participate in creation/evolution of the automation of the clouds services and the conversion into a working reference implementation.
  • Building a highly available, secure, globally performing automation that can be run on public cloud with elastic scalability.
  • Creation of an optimised pipeline for infrastructure-as-code - ensuring that the services are built from code + configuration, not manually and that all artefacts are version controlled.
  • Involved in delivery phases of the development and implementation:
    • Construction, prioritisation and management of both the backlog and underway development activities.
    • Development of code, documentation and any other artefacts required to convert the reference architecture to an implementation that can be handed over to and run effectively by the regional operational teams.
    • Creation of unit, load and performance tests to ensure the reference implementation is production ready.
    • Change management of existing artefacts to meet evolving needs.
    • Collaboration and communication both intra and inter team, to ensure that the servies are effective in delivering positive business outcomes.
    • Participation in retrospectives to examine deliveries over a period, highlighting what went well and what needs to improve - then taking ownership to embed those learnings within the team.
  • Work in an agile development environment, with a team of mixed development and infrastructure backgrounds, to ensure a mutually supported environment.

Skills

  • Programming/scripting skills to automate everything - Python required, other languages useful.
  • Experience with Infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Linux Systems administration - Windows useful.
  • Experience in at least five of the following areas:
    • Agile SDLC - both Kanban and Scrum
    • Productivity software (Jira, Confluence)
    • Linux, preferably Red Hat (RHEL)
    • Kubernetes
    • Version control software (Git, BitBucket)
    • Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
    • Public Cloud Solutions - AWS EKS, EC2, S3, ELB, DynamoDB, VPCs (or Azure equivalents)
    • QA and/or application testing - including unit, integration, performance testing and other similar disciplines
    • Containerised application development - specifically using Docker/Kubernetes
    • Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL database systems
    • MicroServices architecture
    • Architectural experience - Application or Technology (TOGAF useful)
    • Networking concepts - DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, etc.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in either software development or infrastructure design and implementation.
