We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented UX/UI Designer with a passion for creating accessible, inclusive, and user-centered digital experiences. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of accessibility standards, including ADA compliance and WCAG guidelines, and will play a key role in ensuring our digital assets are usable by all.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities shift quickly and problem-solving is essential. Strong communication skills—both visual and verbal—are critical, as is the ability to anticipate challenges, raise issues early, and deliver creative, strategic solutions. This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically skilled but also a change agent who champions accessibility and inclusive design across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document user experiences that are fully accessible, inclusive, and aligned with ADA and WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards.
  • Create comprehensive UI/UX deliverables including interaction models, task flows, personas, wireframes, site maps, and user/functional requirements.
  • Translate design concepts into functional, interactive prototypes using Figma.
  • Communicate design rationale and accessibility considerations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Maintain, innovate, and iterate on existing design systems and application interfaces in Figma.
  • Assist with accessibility audits and usability testing, including with assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure accessible implementation of UI components and resolve accessibility issues.
  • Advocate for accessibility best practices and contribute to accessibility documentation and training.
  • Participate in user research and testing throughout the product lifecycle.

Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design.
  • Deep understanding of ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines.
  • Experience conducting manual and automated accessibility testing and remediating issues.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design/prototyping tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing accessible design work and documentation.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and how users interact with them.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating inclusive digital experiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus.

This is a permanent remote home-based role in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
