Principal Engineer – Gen AI Services

The Experian Software Solutions (ESS) Analytics team is accelerating Experian's impact by integrating data, technology, and data science to build game-changing products and services for our customers. We are looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the development of our AI platform and products, delivering value to Experian's clients.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Be the technical authority and visionary for GenAI product architecture and strategy, including the adoption and integration of generative AI models and frameworks.
• Lead multiple development teams, driving engineering best practices across projects.
• Architect and oversee the design and implementation of full stack analytics platforms on AWS.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and global teams to maximize the value and influence of Analytics offerings.
• Guide programs to improve product cost, scalability, and stability, influencing organization-wide technology decisions.
• Champion a culture of high-quality code, CI/CD automation, and robust enterprise software delivery.
• Provide technical leadership in resolving complex production issues and guiding root cause analysis.
• You will report to the Engineering Director.

Your background:

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated experience in object-oriented and asynchronous programming, and technical leadership.
• Expertise in designing, building, and scaling enterprise-grade platforms.
• Advanced expertise in full-stack application development, web development concepts, and cloud-native architectures.
• Deep experience with production software development in React.js, NodeJS, and Python for scalable REST APIs.
• Experience architecting and deploying solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with scrum, Agile processes, and leading code reviews and pull requests.
• Hands-on experience with large language models (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, Meta Llama, Anthropic Claude).
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, and OpenAI API.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS), and embedding techniques.
• Experience building conversational AI, document intelligence, and generative data synthesis solutions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. You will be also eligible for a variable pay opportunity.
