Why this role is important to us:

As the Global FinOps Practice Lead, you will serve as the strategic architect, executive influencer, and cross-regional integrator for Experian's cloud financial management. Beyond driving spend optimization, this role shapes enterprise-wide behavioral change, aligning senior technology, finance, product and commercial leaders behind a unified cloud-value strategy.

You will operate as a complex systems leader, balancing financial rigor, technical depth, organizational change, and long-range planning to maximize Experian's commercial advantage in a multi-cloud, data-intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

Run Enterprise FinOps Strategy

Define and own the global FinOps vision, ensuring alignment with Experian's strategic objectives and technology transformation agenda.

Establish global KPIs, maturity frameworks and performance governance that shape senior leadership decision-making.

Provide authoritative input into monthly/quarterly technology performance reviews and OKR reporting, influencing corrective actions at executive level.

Shape the enterprise's approach to cloud commercial optimisation, directing strategic negotiation positions with major cloud providers.

Define and govern the financial strategy for GenAI adoption, balancing innovation acceleration with sustainable cost management.

Govern Cloud Spend & Institutionalise FinOps Discipline

Own global FinOps policies and ensure adoption across engineering, architecture and product communities.

Promote adoption throughout Regions and Business Units as part of wider technology transformation initiatives.

Foster enterprise-wide implementation of cost governance frameworks, integrating financial responsibility into both operational and technical decision-making processes.

Lead prioritisation of optimisation opportunities and ensure business units proactively act on insights.

Oversee strategic management of cloud commitments to ensure optimal financial coverage and predictable multi-year spend. Deliver transparent, concise and executive-ready FinOps reporting to senior leaders and corporate stakeholders.

Tooling Ownership

Serve as central owner for Cloudability configuration, data quality, dashboards and user enablement.

Advance automation by testing new tools, technologies, and integrations to improve insights and cut workload.

Manage global vendor relationships and ensure rapid resolution of high-impact issues.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Commitment Planning

Build and maintain multi-year AWS and other CSP spend models to inform enterprise commitment reporting and credit distribution across the group, providing BU-level and consolidated views.

Partner with Finance/Technology leadership to give guidance on forecasting approach and increase global accuracy.

Deliver and promote tooling to improve ability of users to manage, track and forecast cloud spend.

Manage AWS credit distribution through Global Allocation Solution for financial reporting.

Manage reporting to track cloud migration (consumption and revenue on cloud)

People and Stakeholder management

Lead a distributed FinOps team, providing coaching, performance management, and career development.

Participate and heavily contribute to a cross functional technology leadership team, located in multiple global locations.

Upskill and train people around the organisation in FinOps practises and cloud cost management.

Influence key stakeholders to factor commercial implications of cloud decisions for whole of Experian

Support in developing a team with skills required to continue to move Experian into an organization which has best-in-class FinOps capabilities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, IT, or analytics; MBA/engineering degree

A minimum of 8+ years of overall professional experience (progressive experience in a financial setting) and relevant experience in cloud FinOps/cloud spend optimisation

Experience in sourcing of public cloud services including cloud sourcing strategy planning

Experience with cloud tools such as Cloudability or AWS native tools

Proven success in KPI development and reporting transformation at scale.

Strong understanding of public cloud players (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google), their product portfolio and commercial cost/structure models

Experience in preparing and analysing investment cases, including complex financial analysis to support major contract negotiations

Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
