Director – Global Innovation Centre Operations & Strategy

  1. Hyderabad
  2. Facilities
  3. Permanent
  4. Hybrid
  5. Full Time

Role Overview

The Senior Manager – GIC Operations & Strategy is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of Experian's Hyderabad Global Innovation Centre (GIC).

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will serve as the operational backbone of the GIC — making sure the site's technical forums, executive programmes, infrastructure growth, and strategic initiatives run with precision and purpose.

This role is a great fit for an operations leader who is equally at home in a board-level conversation and on the floor of an engineering forum. You bring a blend of operational rigour, technical fluency, and stakeholder management skills — and you are energised by the opportunity to help scale a world-class delivery centre.

1. Technical Forums & Engineering Leadership

  • Own and drive the cadence of multiple technical forums — TPM forums, Engineering Leader forums, and Architecture forums — making sure each has a structured agenda, clear outcomes, and followed on actions.
  • Represent the MD's office in cross-functional technical governance, connecting delivery teams with senior leadership.
  • Advance the AI reusability and silo-breaking agenda across engineering communities; track progress and raise blockers.

2. GIC Operations & Day-to-Day Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the Hyderabad GIC, working with local teams and global stakeholders to keep operations seamless.
  • Partner with enabling functions — Finance, Procurement, IT, Communications, HR, Talent Acquisition, and Admin — to plan and carry out the continued scaling of the Hyderabad site.
  • Build resiliency across processes to support a multi-location operations strategy and ensure business continuity.
  • Coordinate with Lean Six Sigma and BU Functional Managers to identify and drive efficiency improvements.

3. Blue Optima & Developer Velocity

  • Act as the coordination point between GIC leadership and Blue Optima champions across the Hyderabad centre.
  • Drive a structured effort to improve VC (Velocity Coding) productivity scores — setting targets, monitoring trends, and building action plans with engineering leads.

4. Office Expansion & Infrastructure

  • Lead GIC-side coordination for the planned office expansion across two new floors, working with Facilities, Procurement, IT, and vendor partners to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Make sure new space aligns with workforce planning needs and GIC growth projections.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for the MD on expansion milestones and risk management.

5. Executive Events & Executive Support

  • Plan and deliver all executive-level events at the Hyderabad GIC — including ExCo visits, leadership town halls, client engagement events, and MD-hosted forums.
  • Manage the MD's operational needs, including multi-location travel planning, stakeholder meeting preparation, and briefing documentation.
  • Engage stakeholders at a strategic level — shaping, agreeing, and driving initiatives that add value to the business.

6. Innovation, AI & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the AI reusability and cross-team collaboration agenda for Hyderabad; work with engineering and product leaders to break silos and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Act as a change agent — proactively spotting opportunities for innovation, operational efficiency, and cost optimisation.
  • Use operational performance metrics and historical data to improve team performance and business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage budget forecasting and deliver within approved budgets.

Experience and Skills

Experience & Background

  • 10–14 years of experience in GIC / shared services / IT operations management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical background — prior experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or IT operations is highly valued.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale operational or infrastructure projects (office builds, system migrations, forum governance).
  • Experience working in or alongside engineering leadership in a global technology organisation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Communication — you represent the MD's office and work with senior leaders, global partners, and department heads.
  • Programme and project management — you manage several workstreams at once and keep them moving.
  • Operational data fluency — you are comfortable working with productivity metrics, budgets, and performance dashboards.
  • Collaboration — you bring diverse teams together across departments and regions without direct authority.
  • Change orientation — you are energised by ambiguity, and you can create order and drive adoption of new ways of working.

Why This Role

  • Work directly with the Managing Director of one of Experian's flagship GIC locations at a defining point in its growth journey.
  • Shape the culture, infrastructure, and engineering community of a centre that is scaling in both headcount and strategic importance.
  • Operate at the intersection of technology, strategy, and operations — no two days will look the same.
  • Be part of Experian's broader mission to unlock the power of data and create a better tomorrow.
