Controls Testing Manager - ICFR

Reporting to the Senior Controls Manager, ICFR - the ICFR Controls Testing Manager will guide the testing methodology, including the risk assessment and execution of assurance activity over critical financial control across the Experian global business.

The Manager will lead the development of ICFR control testing plans in collaboration with the ICFR Finance Controls team, ensuring understanding of Experian's risk management framework. You will oversee a team of testing leads and analysts, optimizing resource use and partnering with the analytics team to lead automation.

You will also coordinate with assurance functions across all three lines of defense while maintaining independence. Close collaboration with the ICFR Testing Team is necessary to deliver the ICFR Annual Attestation cycle on time and to standard.

Through the assurance, collaborate with the ICFR team and other finance partners to:

  • Guide the identification and prioritization of testing activities as part of the assurance planning process.
  • Manage the planning and execution of control tests including coordinating the testing process with partners, managing the activities of control testing analysts (local and overseas), reviewing the quality of work performed.
  • Prepare draft reports reflecting the results of work performed and agree the findings and proposed actions with the business owners.
  • Present findings to senior managers of the business and the relevant risk management forums
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to identify opportunities to use high-quality data analytics within testing teams during planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance of the testing team with the assurance methodology.
  • Develop and maintain the risk universe to support the identification and prioritization of testing and reporting of results and coverage.

Experience and Skills

 

  • Professional finance or accounting qualification ACA/ACCA or equivalent, including either an audit background (be that external or internal audit) or corporate experience, in an assurance, internal controls or risk areas.
  • 7 years+ experience in an audit and accounting firm.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • An understanding of IT systems and operation.
  • Experienced developing trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across multiple teams.
  • A commercial and businesslike approach to governance and change.
  • An approach that advocates for collaboration and consultation.
  • Experienced identifying important risks and influence improvements in the control environment.
  • Familiar with queries, report writing and presenting findings.

This is a permanent home-based role in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
