Overview

Experian is looking for an attorney to become part of a team supporting Experian's Marketing Services division that is high-growth. You will bring an affinity for learning, both as a lawyer and more generally as a business professional.

You have experience working with complex agreements for clients in multiple industries and public sector, including health, financial services, and AdTech. You will negotiate contracts directly with Experian's business clients for a variety of products and services, including marketing data services, SaaS, licensed software, consulting, professional services, and analytics.

The agreements are varied and may include professional services agreements, RFPs, RFQs, NDAs, evaluation agreements, standard terms and conditions, service level agreements, and master services agreements.

Responsibilities

  • You will find creative solutions that meet both parties' compliance needs and ensure that contracts comply with Experian policies and regulatory requirements.
  • You will collaborate with subject matter experts in multiple roles, including information security, internal and regulatory compliance, sales, product marketing, corporate legal, and finance to help bring transactions to successful completion
  • Assist sales teams with ongoing administration of client contracts
  • Advise management on contractual terms and risks
  • Provide training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies
  • Use your judgment to quickly to facilitate deal execution while minimizing risk to Experian's interests

Experience and Skills

  • JD from an accredited law school; admission to the bar of any state.
  • 2-5+ years of legal experience as member of an agency or in-house legal department or contracts department.
  • Experience disseminating legal information non-legal professionals in a clear way
  • Direct experience negotiating critical contract terms, such as Limitations of Liability, Indemnification, Warranties, Termination and Data Security.
  • Experience aligning contract terms to meet revenue recognition requirements and accounting rules for multiple types of services, including software and custom development projects.
  • Have familiarity with state and federal privacy laws, including the FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPPA.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.
