Analytics Summer Practice

We are currently looking for ambitious students to join our 2-weeks Experian Summer practice initiative organized by the Sofia Analytics Team.

As a Summer Practice Participant, you will have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills, while obtaining modelling insight and creating a standardized scorecard using Experian’s solution in Python environment. The final goal is to develop a financial model estimating credit risk using real data. The training provides the chance to develop a business strategy and find statistical relationships when analyzing data, allowing you to apply your knowledge in mathematics and statistics.

Experian Summer Practice consists of 10 sessions starting on 7th July and ending on 18th July (4 hours each day - first half of the day, in a remote environment) covering the topics:

  • Credit scoring and modelling overview
  • Introduction to Python toolbox for modelling
  • Evaluation and analysis of provided data
  • Development of main modelling stages for a standard application scorecard
  • Building and assessing final model
  • Calibration, validation, and cut-off strategies

Experience and Skills

What you will bring:

  • 3+ year Bachelor ‘s or Master ‘s students in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance or related field
  • Excellent command of English is required as all materials provided are in English
  • Good analytical skills, and a desire to learn
  • Basic understanding of Python, including Pandas and NumPy packages
  • Personal Windows-based computer with internet access where you can install and use Python and Experian’s solution. You must also be able to join Teams online conference calls from this machine

Based on the received applications, you may be asked to complete an online test assessing your Python knowledge and analytical mindset to secure a place in the Experian Summer Practice.
