Staff Engineer - Remote

We are looking for a Staff Engineer that can excel in a non-traditional, agile environment leading the way in the Cloud and Big Data analytics ecosystem. Data is the currency in today's world, and in this role, you will be at the forefront of a digital transformation. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership.

As a Staff Engineer, you will report to the Software Development Director and operate as a hands-on technical leader, influencing architecture and implementation across multiple teams. You'll guide important decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure the platform meets demanding Service Level Agreements for latency, reliability, and throughput. You will work remote, or hybrid based on proximity to an Experian office.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring support to senior and mid-level technical team members, helping them grow their technical expertise.
• Define the product engineering vision, creating long-term strategies and roadmaps that align with our goals.
• Lead design and implementation of platform-wide projects, such as event-driven architecture, observability, service mesh integration, and rate-limiting strategies.
• Lead multiple concurrent software product customizations from creation to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Partner with engineering managers, staff engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to align technical execution with our priorities.

You will have advanced technical skills:

• Software Change Request Management: Breaks down complex requests into multiple requests and describes methods for estimating costs for request fulfillment.
• Software Development Life Cycle: Describes similarities and differences of life cycle for new product development vs. new release and identifies common issues for each phase.
• Cloud Platform: Leads the development of cloud solutions based on requirements analysis and troubleshoots complex issues.
• Customer Focus: Facilitates creation of the 'right' products and services to resolve customer business issues and fosters customer relationships.

• Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, product development or a related role.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education.
