Senior Data Engineer

Experian is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing robust data software applications, scalable data platforms, and innovative data products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including application engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders—to design, build, and implement high-impact solutions that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of data solutions and pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology solutions meet business requirements and optimize resource costs.
• Contribute to engineering standards, data modeling, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and junior engineers.
• Communicate project status and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences based in the U.S. and locally.
• Ensure effective change management and solution adoption through documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and methodologies based on industry best practices.

•5 to 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

• Strong expertise in cloud development, particularly with AWS services such as Aurora PostgreSQL RDS, Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.

• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Amazon Data Firehose, EMR, and Athena in high-volume environments.

• Expert in SQL and proficient in PySpark and Python.

• Deep understanding of data platform paradigms and software/data architecture.

• Understanding of data modeling principles and data warehousing techniques is essential.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues utilizing tools such as DataDog, CloudWatch, Splunk, dBeaver, and DataGrip

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.

• Experience working in agile, multi-project environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of Apache Iceberg, AWS Lake Formation and AWS DataZone.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, security, and compliance standards.
