Security Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Director Self Service Infrastructure, the Expert Systems Security Engineer will be part of the Endpoint Security Operations team. You will be in charge of the innovation, development, and overall maintenance of endpoint security applications like EDR, AV, DLP, and Cloud Proxy.

Focus will be on the infrastructure side of endpoint security but will work with users that their issue requires specific expertise beyond what service desk offers.

You will be responsible for scheduled management tasks, automation, development, break/fix, and consulting with other departments to maintain functional and efficient services.

You will have security experience in endpoint security, secure system configurations. Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, with the ability to apply that knowledge in the endpoint security operations context is required.

What you'll do:

• Monitor and address endpoint vulnerabilities using security software.
• Troubleshoot issues caused by security tools on servers and workstations.
• Review and validate security alerts to identify false positives.
• Manage EDR, AV, DLP, and Cloud Proxy platforms (Microsoft, Trellix).
• Coordinate with vendors, regional teams, and SMEs to resolve complex problems.
• Document processes, automation steps, and workflows.
• Participate in audits as an SME and provide required documentation.
• Use PowerShell or Python for scripting and automation (preferred).
• Operate Tanium for endpoint management (preferred).
• Work with other teams in the global security organization and other business units, and working with vendors.

• 5+ years in information security roles, managing endpoint security and secure system configurations.
• 4+ years managing security products like AV and DLP.
• 2+ years of experience with EDRs. Cloud Proxy experience is beneficial.
• 3+ years managing Windows and Linux systems. Mac exposure beneficial.
• 2+ years PowerShell or Python scripting experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in IT or similar discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experienced incident handling/incident response for infrastructure and endpoints.
• Basic experience of networking concepts such as VLAN, subnets, common protocols, and routing basics.
• Solid comprehension of different security controls, capabilities and use in a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated history of innovation or creativity.
• Experience driving process improvements and identify gaps and lead to resolution.
• Related Certifications (CISSP, CCSK, MCSE, RHCSA) are beneficial.

This is a remote Costa Rica-based position. No relocation is available.
