Summary

Experian is looking for a Revenue Recognition Team Lead to oversee revenue recognition activities following IFRS 15, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue reporting across Experian businesses. You will combine deep technical accounting expertise, internal controls ownership, and people leadership, and serves as an important liaison between Accounting, Billing, Sales, Legal, FP&A, and external auditors.

You will lead a team responsible for contract review, revenue assessment, month-end close execution, deferred & accrued revenue management, and continuous process improvement, while ensuring adherence to Experian's ICFR framework and global accounting policies. You will report to the Revenue Recognition Supervisor / Manager.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, contract modifications, and revenue timing for complex arrangements.
  • Review and advise on customer contracts and non-standard deals, partnering with Sales, Legal, and Commercial teams to assess accounting impacts before execution.
  • Oversee revenue-related month-end close and reporting, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, deferred revenue roll-forwards, balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate revenue accounting and system integrity within Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and supporting sub-ledgers, aligning recognized revenue with FP&A forecasts and business reporting.
  • Oversee revenue-related internal controls and compliance, including SOX/ICFR controls, audit support, and adherence to global accounting policies and audit standards.
  • Lead and develop the revenue accounting team, being a trusted finance partner to partners while promoting controls, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) with advanced English proficiency.
  • 3–5 years of experience in revenue recognition or revenue accounting, with hands-on exposure to ASC 606 / IFRS 15 in data, technology, or software-driven environments.
  • At least 1 year of people management experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Experience in multinational, shared services, or complex commercial environments, with the ability to interpret contracts and translate commercial terms into accounting treatment.
  • Strong systems and tools knowledge, including Oracle EBS or SAP (required) and experience with Cadency/Blackline (preferred).
  • Advanced Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and controls expertise, including complex data analysis, reconciliations, financial models, and experience supporting ICFR / SOX and audit requirements.
