The Controls Implementation Manager is an important member of the Group Risk Control & Testing organization, focusing on improving performance and strengthening risk management practices. Reporting to the Senior Controls Implementation Manager you will lead the implementation of critical controls and the ongoing sustainability of the critical controls across both first and second line teams (1LOD and 2LOD), ensuring a sustainable critical control environment that aligns with Experian's risk appetite.

What you'll do:

  • Provide line management guidance to a team of two Control Implementation Leads.
  • Lead the implementation and sustainability of critical controls enterprise-wide, ensuring delivery against priorities.
  • Partner with global leaders to develop critical control improvement plans that close gaps and enhance control quality and coverage.
  • Provide expert guidance to teams and control owners to support understanding, documentation, and maintenance of control environments.
  • Monitor critical control implementation and sustainability progress, identify blockers, and guide resolution through structured planning, reporting, and partner engagement.
  • Embed critical control processes with the business, defining roles, responsibilities, and expectations to reduce risk and improve consistency.
  • Deliver coaching and challenge to 1LOD and 2LOD teams to embed critical controls as enablers of risk management.
  • Identify insights through analysis of risk data and control assessments, providing relevant recommendations and risk reporting.
  • Support policy owners in defining critical control objectives and developing implementation plans and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of the future-state controls organization by supporting transformation, performance improvement, and risk maturity projects.

Experience and Skills

What you'll bring:

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 6–10 years in risk, controls, or audit roles, with at least 2–3 years in framework of transformation implementation.
  • Experience in risk and controls management, including control design, implementation, and testing.
  • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks and methodologies (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000); .
  • Comfortable working across global teams, time zones, and multiple workstreams.
  • Team-oriented approach and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Consulting or working within a technology-driven organization.
