The Experian Financial Services and Data Compliance Specialist is a part of the larger NA Data Office team, led by the EVP, Data Office, Ops & Governance. This team ensures the Departments operate in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, and industry self-regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the team builds and maintains a governance program and operational risk policies. The team also guides the product and sales team to create/offer compliant products/value propositions. Your role will involve working with multiple teams, including Corporate Compliance, Corporate Audit, and Legal. These teams collaborate with Product, Sales, Data Acquisitions, and counterparts in other NA Teams. The goal is to ensure compliance of all cross-department efforts and innovations.

You are a strategic specialist with experience advising and influencing senior executives across a complex, global organization. You will apply a forward‑looking, solutions‑oriented approach to evolving regulatory and, driving meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

Important Responsibilities

  • Strategic Compliance Governance: Lead the enhancement, and adoption of compliance frameworks, standards and procedures, ensuring experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects, integration, and execution across the business.
  • Advisory and 1LOD Leadership serves as the primary First Line of Defense (1LOD) Compliance and Risk Liaison. As a strategic advisor, I provide guidance to Sales, Product, and Data Acquisition teams on new product launches, sales opportunities, and complex projects.
  • Risk Management: Design, manage a comprehensive, risk‑based compliance monitoring and reporting program. Identify new risks, establish metrics and important risk indicators, and deliver clear, applicable insights to senior leadership and partners.
  • Remediation & Issue Management: Ensure sustainable risk mitigation by developing and overseeing remediation plans for identified compliance gaps or issues.
  • Client & External Team member Engagement: Serve as a compliance resource during client and partner discussions involving Experian policies.

Experience and Skills

 

  • Experience in compliance, privacy and enterprise risk management programs within complex, highly regulated environments.
  • Expertise in regulatory frameworks includes the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). It also includes Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), and other federal and state regulations applicable to consumer reporting agencies. Additionally, there is a ability to interpret evolving regulatory expectations and translate them into scalable business practices.
  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CRCM, CIPP).
  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal, audit, or related control functions, including experience influencing senior leaders and leading projects.
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects, with effectiveness presenting to executive leadership, regulators, clients, and other external partners.
  • Proficient in designing, assessing, and enhancing enterprise level internal control frameworks, including experience with issue management, remediation governance, and sustainable risk mitigation strategies.
