Strategy Analyst

We are looking for a Strategy Analyst to join the Portfolio Strategy team within ESS Portfolio Marketing.

The team develops a fact-based view of our markets, competitors, customers and commercial performance. It also supports longer-term strategic planning and translates complex information into clear insights and recommendations for senior leaders across ESS.

As Strategy Analyst you will help turn market, competitor, client and commercial data into insights that support strategic decision-making across ESS.

You will conduct market and competitive research, develop market-sizing and commercial analyses, support strategic planning, and create high-quality materials for senior stakeholders. Working across multiple teams and regions, you will gain broad exposure to ESS's businesses, markets and strategic priorities.

You will report to the Senior Director, Portfolio Strategy.

What you'll do:

• Market and competitive intelligence: Conduct research and analysis on market size and growth, client and industry trends, regulatory developments, competitors and competitive dynamics. Synthesize findings into clear insights on strategic implications and potential actions.
• Commercial and sales analytics: Develop and maintain analyses of commercial performance, including pipeline performance, win/loss trends and other key business metrics. Build effective presentations, dashboards and, where appropriate, AI-enabled analytical tools to make insights accessible to stakeholders.
• Strategic planning: Support the development and refresh of ESS's five-year strategic plan, including conducting supporting analyses and coordinating inputs from business, functional and regional stakeholders.
• Executive-level analysis and communication: Develop high-quality analytical materials for internal and external stakeholders, combining rigorous data analysis with clear visualizations and compelling storytelling. This may include executive presentations and materials for conferences and other external engagements.
• Intelligence and data management: Build and maintain structured market, competitor and client intelligence resources to enable ongoing strategic analysis and fact-based decision-making.
• Strategic projects: Support strategic projects and workstreams by structuring problems, conducting analyses, gathering and synthesizing stakeholder inputs, developing recommendations and tracking actions through completion.

What you'll bring:

• Analytical and modelling skills, including advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to work with large or imperfect datasets, identify trends and develop robust market-sizing and other analytical models.
• Ability to turn complex analysis into clear, concise and visually compelling presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Relevant strategy experience, gained through strategy consulting, corporate strategy, market intelligence, commercial strategy or similar role. Experience with market assessment, competitive analysis or strategic planning would be particularly relevant.
