This ensures that cloud platforms are reliable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards and operational goals. You will report to a Manager.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, implement, and improve cloud platform services with a primary focus on Azure, supporting multi-cloud integrations with AWS and GCP where required.
  • Lead complex platform programs across compute, networking, identity, and storage domains, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Azure Resource Manager (ARM/Bicep), Terraform, and related frameworks across multiple environments.
  • Standardize and improve cloud platform configurations, automation workflows, and deployment pipelines to align with enterprise standards.
  • You will improve observability, proactive monitoring, self-healing capabilities, and incident reduction across platform services.
  • You will lead advanced troubleshooting and incident response efforts, conducting structured root cause analysis and implementing long-term remediation.
  • Implement cloud policies, governance controls, and security configurations within Azure and extending equivalent governance and security controls to AWS and GCP.
  • Support and guide cloud migration and modernization efforts, including workload onboarding, tenant integration, and hybrid connectivity patterns across Azure, AWS and GCP.
  • Collaborate with application, security, networking, and business teams to support cloud adoption, resolve complex issues, and improve platform usability.
  • Mentor Level 2 engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and operational guidance.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • Design reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and automation frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Implement and support Azure-native services and configurations, including:
    • Virtual Networks (VNets), peering, gateways, and ExpressRoute
    • Hub-and-spoke architectures and private endpoint configurations
    • Azure DNS (private zones, resolvers, custom configurations)
    • Azure Entra (identity, role assignments, multi-tenant configurations, application registrations)
    • Azure Policy (definition, assignment, and enforcement)
  • Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of cloud platform services, including compute, storage, networking, and backup capabilities.
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Azure CLI/SDK tooling.
  • Improve deployment processes and platform manageability using Azure DevOps and related CI/CD tooling.
  • Support integration with enterprise systems, including RESTful services, identity providers, and third-party vendor solutions.
  • Contribute to cost awareness and operational efficiency by supporting resource optimization and understanding Azure billing constructs (subscriptions, billing scopes, enterprise agreements).
  • Maintain technical documentation, reference implementations, and operational runbooks.

Experience and Skills

  • 5–9 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering within enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure as a primary platform, including deployment, configuration, and operations across enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code using ARM/Bicep, Terraform, or equivalent frameworks, including multi-environment deployments.
  • 5+ years experience with Azure networking architectures, including VNets, routing, DNS, hybrid connectivity, and distributed system design.
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure identity and access management, including Entra ID, role-based access control, multi-tenant configurations, and policy enforcement.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and cloud provider CLI/SDK tools.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms supporting automated cloud deployments.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and their application in distributed cloud systems.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cloud migration initiatives and integrating on-premises or multi-tenant environments into Azure.
  • Knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity practices, risk management processes, and incident response methodologies.
  • You will operate independently, lead complex technical efforts, and influence partners.
  • We strongly prefer Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400); we value AWS/GCP certifications given the multi-cloud scope of this role.
