Director Architecture

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Solution Architect to define, design, and evolve AWS-based batch and data processing solutions. Partnering with engineering and product teams, you’ll guide designs from concept to deployment, ensuring platforms are secure, scalable, high-performance, and cost-efficient. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role shaping our UKI Batch Platform and influencing cloud and product architecture across the business.

What You’ll Do

• Define and execute the architectural application strategy and roadmap for the UKI Batch Platform, aligning with cloud transformation and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Product teams to define the UKI Batch strategy and integrate it into the broader organisational roadmap.
• Lead the technical design for multiple platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with best practices and enterprise standards.
• Design secure, scalable solutions using AWS services and Experian-developed capabilities.
• Ensure all solutions meet critical non-functional requirements including scalability, performance, observability, and FINOPS cost optimisation.
• Partner with engineering to ensure delivery quality, resilience, and maintainability.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AWS services, design patterns, and tools to accelerate delivery and improve platform robustness.
• Chair or participate in architecture reviews, providing actionable, constructive feedback to teams.
• Promote reusability, quality engineering standards, and architectural alignment across global teams.

• 7+ years in solution architecture or senior technical design roles.
• Proven ability to set architectural vision and influence senior stakeholders in Product and the wider business.
• Strong AWS experience with the AWS Well-Architected Framework; solid track record in data platform, ETL, and batch processing architectures.
• Proficiency in C# (.NET) and at least one other language (Scala/Python preferred).
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and compliance teams, guiding solutions from strategy to deployment.

As Lead Solution Architect, you will shape and safeguard the architecture of the UKI Batch Platform — a mission‑critical data processing foundation that underpins multiple flagship products, delivers workloads for strategic clients, and supports multi‑million‑pound annual revenues.

Your leadership will ensure these platforms scale efficiently, remain secure and resilient, and consistently meet stringent performance, compliance, and client SLAs. By aligning technical architecture with business priorities, you’ll enable faster product innovation, accelerate time‑to‑market for new capabilities, and ensure the platform continues to be a trusted, high‑throughput engine for hundreds of millions of consumer records and strategic customer workloads.
