VP, Platform Engineering
Experian’s Consumer Information Services (CIS) team is looking for a Vice President of Platform Engineering to join us in our San Jose or Costa Mesa office (when it’s safe to do so). In this role you will be responsible for managing a big data Hadoop and microservices platform. You will lead CIS business units across the diverse product areas of Credit Portfolio. We are looking for a person with the intellect, experience and leadership to manage and scale this organization as required by the explosive growth of the business.

What you’ll be doing
You will be leading global product and data engineering teams within Experian’s platform engineering organization. We operate at a substantial scale, with Hadoop clusters of hundreds of nodes, petabytes of data and thousands of jobs executed. We are a security first organization with heavy investments around privacy and data adoption, embracing a hybrid cloud strategy and various data engineering initiatives. The technologies we work on include a broad range of both commercial and opensource solutions – Java/J2EE, NoSQL, Hadoop, Hive, Tez, Spark, Python, R, H20, SAS, Jupyter, Parquet, Presto, Griffin, Zeppelin, Kafka, Kstreams/Attunuity and other ML/AI products. We are ultra-focused in our platform engineering teams and are looking for strong leaders to help us execute on our vision.
What your background looks like
- You have an established record of strong technical leadership operating at scale on AWS/Cloud infrastructure with highly available platforms.
- Experience with modern technology stack in the areas of Cloud, API, Microservices and re-platforming
- Proven success in developing teams that work on large scale data infrastructure and demonstrated engineering excellence
- Exposure to technology transformations, championing changes across various software development life cycles including Agile, DevSecOps and SRE
- Ability to collaborate well with the Product, Engineering and Shared Services teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
