JOB DESCRIPTION | SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER – DATA STRATEGY

The Senior Product Manager of Data Strategy will drive the strategy for Experian Marketing Services’ consumer data assets, products, and propositions across the digital and offline marketing ecosystem.   We seek a candidate eager to join a start-up atmosphere – supporting solutions that span cycles from deep adoption in a change use case to solutions at the tipping point of market adoption to new solutions yet to be imagined.  Strong market knowledge and product management expertise are critical in one or more of the following key verticals: Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail/CPG, Advanced TV, Publishing/Media, and/or Technology.

Experian Marketing Services goes to market with ConsumerView as its primary data product offering.  The candidate will be responsible for defining and executing data product strategy, understanding market needs, creating customer-centric requirements and roadmaps, maintaining competitive analysis, influencing product development in an Agile framework.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assess market needs related to consumer data.  Identify significant long-term opportunities based on research, analysis, and a strategic view of the direction of the market and business goals.  Define appropriate product strategies for Experian’s data assets, products, and propositions. 
  • Size the markets for your products and report regularly on the competitive landscape. Determine market potential and revenue opportunities that exist.
  • Regular market-facing approach to capturing voice of customer, partners, and sales teams, and create competitive differentiation and compelling positioning in the market.
  • Drive new product innovation using the Experian Pathways Innovation process that solves market problems and be able to identify critical client needs that must be met by the product to launch, as well as manage the overall product lifecycle.
  • Work with product owners, drive the delivery of product roadmaps for new products and major product enhancements, including partnering with relevant development teams.
  • Work closely with the Data Analytics team to formulate, monitor, and analyze the performance of data segments.
  • Partner with the Marketing Team to define and manage comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan including positioning, launch strategy, PR, sales, and partner materials.
  • Partner with the Product Marketing Team to develop market-facing product collateral and other external materials.
  • Own business metrics for customer engagement & satisfaction, product usage, revenue, and forecasts for new and existing products.
  • Be an expert concerning the industry, competition, and emerging players.
  • Understand all relevant regulatory and self-regulatory statutes and norms for the industry and be able to apply them to products within the marketing ecosystem.
  • Create regular thought leadership pieces, such as white papers, webinars, research reports, and other relevant materials to reinforce Experian’s place in the market.

What your background looks like

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated product management leadership, working both internally to drive delivery on roadmap goals, and externally to evaluate and drive partnerships that advance product strategy.
  • 5+ years of strong experience within the data-driven marketing space (digital and offline required).
  • Demonstrated expertise in one, or more, of the key verticals mentioned above.
  • Analytical experience measuring program/product success. A metrics-driven approach to product management.
  • Experience working within Agile Product Frameworks.
  • Excellent client-facing presentation skills required.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to work well and navigate in a matrixed environment.
  • Creativity - Can formulate ways to overcome obstacles, will fight for our products’ success in the market, and can own the path forward on both existing and new products.
  • Critical Mind - Can identify issues and turn them into opportunities.  Can work well across multiple groups to achieve business outcomes.
  • Communication - Can explain complex concepts in simple terms to a variety of internal and external audiences.
