We’re currently looking for a Senior Learning and Development Consultant to join our UK&I Human Resources team on a fixed term contract basis (we are flexible on location). This is a highly visible role which will have significant exposure to senior stakeholders with a varied set of responsibilities.

 

The Senior L&D Consultant will be responsible for leading on various elements of the L&D strategy for the UK&I region. You will be responsible for ensuring that the design and delivery of all Learning interventions across the region supporting the short and medium term needs of the business. The role is responsible for managing the core employee learning curriculum, overseeing programme design and implementation, managing the development budgets for aligned programmes, providing thought leadership in the L&D area and developing and coaching leaders across the business.

What is the Senior L&D Consultant responsible for?

 

You can expect to be responsible for the following:

  • Consulting directly with senior leadership teams on team development / effectiveness interventions to improve the overall performance of teams.
  • Design and delivery of team effectiveness activities as needed (select / manage external providers, where appropriate).
  • Managing the delivery of learning consultancy into the business.
  • Leading the development of a wide range of blended L&D solutions to develop individual and business performance.
  • Ensuring new solutions represent the most effective mix of L&D methodologies whilst supporting the organisations 70:20:10 learning philosophy (this includes virtual delivery of content in an engaging way).
  • Ongoing management and enhancement of the existing core portfolio of employee L&D programmes.
  • Providing support to the Global Talent team by contributing to Global learning initiatives (as needed).
  • Carrying out regular and ongoing external benchmarking to understand best practice.
  • Selecting and managing external providers to support the development of L&D programmes/interventions.
  • Evaluating all learning programmes and interventions.
  • Assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of all external suppliers and partners to ensure consistently high levels of design, delivery and ROI.
  • Managing the internal communication of L&D programmes to build employee engagement, understanding, take up and reputation of these programmes.
  • Developing one of our business areas L&D Strategy to meet the business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to embed our high-performance culture and approach across the UK&I.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about developing people. This would be a great role for someone who is already working in an L&D role looking to join a market leading, fast paced and truly global organisation. We're looking for:

  • Extensive experience and deep expertise in shaping L&D strategies and plans to reflect business needs and deliver value for money interventions.
  • Developing and delivering best practice Learning and Development solutions (including the delivery of virtual content in a progressive and engaging way).
  • Ability to develop blended learning solutions.
  • Evaluating the impact of learning programmes on individual capability and business performance.
  • Contracting/managing L&D services from external suppliers.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring experience at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to consult into the business at a senior leadership level and to define, develop and implement bespoke development interventions.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders across multiple regions

 

It would be a bonus if you are CIPD qualified however this is not essential.
