Health, Safety and Environment Manager (UK, Ireland and EMEA)



 


Introduction


 


We are looking for a new Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our UK, Ireland and EMEA.  You will be part of the wider Facilities and Real estate service team.


 


Role overview


 


UKI and EMEA Health, Safety and Environment Manager, responsibility are:


  • Developing and implementing management systems and practices to ensure compliance with UK legislation.

  • Providing support for business units in risk management, legislative compliance and day to day problem resolution.

  • Managing workstation assessment and ongoing support.

  • Developing and supporting a network of Health and Safety Coordinators to provide local support.

  • Development of health and safety arrangements - developed and published, roll out programme to be planned and implemented.

  • H&S management system replacement– system specification is in progress and will be completed in H2, with tender, purchase and roll out according to budgetary constraints. 

  • DSE assessment system replacement – systems assessed

  • Targeted support for employees with musculo-skeletal problems – improvement project underway with HR.

  • H&S Coordinator activity levels raised through improved communications, support and training.

  • Provision of day to day business support.


 


EMEA


  • Developing a network of health and safety practitioners, providing support and sharing best practice.

  • Developing management systems and ensuring all locations meet Experian policies and local legislation.

  • Briefing business leaders and managing compliance to group health and safety policy

  • Establish legislative compliance across EMEA

  • Accident reporting - enabling early investigation and sharing best practices.

  • Forums have been established to set and share best practice in targeted areas.

     


Day to Day


  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of UK&I and EMEA health and safety and environmental legislation and setting Experian health and safety and environmental standards to meet legislative requirements.

     

  • Fulfilling the role of the competent person as required by the MHSW Regulations 1999 and providing health, safety and environmental legislative advice to the business.

     

  • Developing and implementing health and safety and environmental strategy.

     

  • You will be continually improving and ensuring implementation of health and safety management systems and good practice.

     

  • Continually improving and ensuring implementation of the environmental management system, including maintaining certification to ISO14001:2015

     

  • Liaising with external bodies, including compliance reporting

  • Developing and advising a network of health, safety and environmental practitioners across to implement

  • Group Policy and best practice. All countries compliant with Group HSE policies.


 


  • Working with Group HSE to implement and report inline with Group HSE policies and practices.

We are looking for:


 

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Manager to Implementing Experian’s health, safety and environmental strategy and standards as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

    

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

  • Environmental or engineering degree.  Minimum Technical membership of IOSH.

     

  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation

  • Ability to represent Experian with regulatory and external bodies

  • Ability to develop and implement new and improved health and safety and environmental management processes

  • Ability to lead change programmes, with associated business communications

  • Highly effective communicator, good interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and research skills

  • Motivated, tenacious, keen to drive for results

     

    Desirable

  • Chartered member of ISOH or working towards.  Practitioner Member of IEMA or working towards.
