An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the Group Financial Reporting team (GFR). The successful candidate will work across a broad range of areas in both statutory reporting and management reporting of balance sheet, and cash flow at a Group level, as well as assisting with our ‘Controllership Excellence’ agenda.



What makes this role special


Working as part of the GFR team, the role offers candidates an opportunity to support the delivery of the below EBIT, balance sheet and cash flow sections of the Global Management Report (GMR). You will also support the preparation of the Experian Group statutory results and provide advice to the regional finance teams on the application of Group financial accounting policies and processes across the business. This role will provide insight into the entire global business and exposure to key stakeholders across all regions.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will be part of a smaller team within the 15 strong GFR team based across Nottingham, London and Manchester. The team are responsible for the Group’s statutory reporting, technical accounting and balance sheet and cash flow management.



The post holder will work closely with the wider GFR team, regional finance teams and finance service centres.




What you’ll be doing day to day



  • Support the regional and local finance teams through the monthly group reporting requirements

  • Contribute to the delivery of a high quality, accurate and insightful global & regional GMR commentary

  • Support the preparation of Experian Group statutory results and year-end process including preparing notes and leading the auditors through these sections

  • Contribute to improvement and automation of controllership processes across the Group

  • Support the completion of the year-end statutory Q&A pack

  • Assist in the accounting for and integration of smaller acquisitions made by the Group

  • Support the development of the Group Financial Reporting Systems

  • Provide ad-hoc guidance on IFRS accounting queries from the regional teams.



The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CPA or equivalent) with strong technical skills and academics, including a degree.


The individual suitable for this role must possess:

  • Experience of statutory reporting in listed entities and knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
  • Demonstrate a rigorous, organised and thorough approach to your work, with particular attention to high quality reporting
  • Be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels across the business
  • Great organisational skills, with the capability to deliver in a time-pressured environment, whilst managing multiple work-streams
  • Team player
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Hyperion financial reporting systems or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to experience occasional short-term secondments globally in support of corporate development transactions or other processes is preferred
