Financial Analyst Senior (Revenue Recognition)

Experian Revenue Recognition Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to meet our growing needs in Costa Rica. As a Senior Analyst, you will be an integral part of the month, quarter, year-end closes for the North America (NA) Revenue Finance team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and post journal entries associated with month end close 
  2. Prepare deferred revenue and accrued sales account reconciliations
  3. Analyze supporting documentation with view of deferred revenue and accrued sales positions
  4. Review underlying sales contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition 
  5. Support NA revenue finance team in enforcement of controls and external/internal audits
  6. Implement procedures to achieve efficient and effective month end close with a continuous improvement mindset
  7. Apply global and NA policies and apply to presented fact patterns to sales contracts
  8. Assist with researching audit and flex analysis requests
  9. Perform quality control procedures for deferred revenue and accrued sales
  10. Collaborate with BU Finance on gaining deeper understanding of products and contracts at hand
  11. Inform NA revenue accounting team of any high-risk items
  12. Provide support to the Revenue Finance team for various initiatives and projects


Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of experience in accounting: journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end and year-end close process; experience in revenue recognition activities is strongly preferred

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills (C1 Level) 

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames

  • Team oriented with a positive attitude

  • Highly deadline driven with the ability to demonstrate ownership of the tasks assigned 

  • Strong relationship building skills and a highly professional client service orientation

  • Demonstrated record of process improvements and desire to implement best practices

  • Proven previous job stability, including maintaining long-term work relationships with former employers}

  • Must be able to clear the company’s pre-employment screening

Desired Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Equivalent of CPA / CMA strongly preferred 

  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience in a high pace environment

  • Familiarity with LEAN / Six Sigma methodology
