Key responsibilities

 

The Finance Partner is required to work closely alongside a broad range of key business stakeholders, supporting the Global Management Team, as well as being a key representative of finance to the wider EDQ Global team. 

 

In particular, the Finance Partner is responsible for:

 

Month end / MMC / Reporting

  • Management of the month end and year end close process for Global EDQ; ensuring an effective, efficient and accurate month-end close process across costs, capex and balance sheet
  • Leading the monthly reforecast process to ensure that risks, opportunities and key actions are well communicated to the business and understood by all key stakeholders
  • Accountability for supporting and enabling financial performance in line with budget (EBIT)
  • Ensuring that monthly management information reporting is completed in line with timetable, and that it provides clear insights and relevant KPI’s to support decision making
  • Supporting the development of initiatives to meet financial targets and lead finance work-streams where possible (e.g. headcount / structural analysis and review of controllable spend to maximise EBIT performance)
  • Defining process for global product reporting, and reviewing on a monthly basis


 Budgeting / Strategic Planning

  • Contributing to key business projects, with accountability for delivering relevant finance inputs and impacts (e.g. process considerations) examples may include helping to run the Annual budget and strategic planning process
  • Supporting Global EDQ Investment projects – e.g. investment case, or other capex development projects
  • Longer term financial planning and modelling


 Business Partnering / Other

  • Ability to assist with Ad hoc requests as required, providing financial insights to business stakeholders and helping to shape business decisions
  • Providing input and challenge around resourcing strategy for global product development, ensuring that best value for money achieved
  • Acting as finance key contact to provide finance support and coaching to stakeholders within the business
  • Acting as a coach and role model within the finance team - providing financial insight on business performance and sharing best practice from other global teams 
  • Networking with colleagues to build relationships whilst developing an understanding of the commercial aspect of EDQ 
  • Accountable for working across the EDQ Finance team to ensure that effective controls are in place around process for purchasing, recruitment and cross-regional royalty payments 
  • Working proactively to identify and drive opportunities for process improvements within finance and the wider business 
  • Actively contributing to a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business
  • Taking personal responsibility for ensuring that all regulatory requirements and appropriate controls are adhered to in the interests of our customers

Key experience/skills we’re looking for:  

  • Newly qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA.

  • Post qualification experience or experience working in finance would be an advantage

  • Strong desire to understand the commercial drivers of a business
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical problem solving capabilities 
  • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with a high attention to detail 
  • Presence, gravitas and ability to influence senior stakeholders 
  • Ability to communicate numerical information in an easy to understand manner 
  • Experience of having worked in a fast-paced, preferably matrix environment and able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities 
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of technical accounting issues – e.g. revenue recognition, Capex
  • Good interpersonal and business partnering skills
