Ascend Consultant

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join the Analytics Pre-Sales and Ascend Consulting Team within the Analytics Centre of Expertise (ACoE) within the Decisioning Business Unit.

This position will be a client focused role that will primarily be focused on supporting Ascend clients from the later sales engagement through the in-life contract engagement. You will work closely with the Ascend Data Science team and the wider Analytics Centre of Expertise (ACoE) to provide support and development of Ascend deliverables and use cases. You’ll have wider engagements with the Ascend programme team to feed into the service and development models of Ascend.

Alongside the core Ascend responsibilities the role also offers the opportunity to feed into the wider Analytics Pre-Sales opportunities from M&PI through to full Custom Analytics opportunities that are delivered from within the ACoE.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work interactively with a team of highly skilled consultants, project managers, statisticians, data scientists and analysts.
  • Lead contact for Ascend users and stakeholders within the client environment.
  • Interpret results of analyses, identify trends and issues, and recommend alternatives to support business objectives.
  • Serve as an analytical consultant for complex client deliveries/implementations
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to determine the appropriate analysis parameters and performance measures to be applied, as well as requirements for decision tool and strategy implementation and monitoring
  • Identify and secure additional opportunities with clients.
  • Lead business development efforts and support product development, management, and marketing initiatives to fuel revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Support field sales team and marketing organisation by providing analytical and consulting expertise.
  • Support the senior management of the department to meet the established department goals.
  • Participate in internally and externally sponsored speaking engagements


What We’re Looking For:

This position requires a highly motivated, energetic, and positive person with:

  • Proven ability to shape and define solutions to meet client requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience of using these to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Experian products and service suite.
  • Good presentational skills with the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders and large groups
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good commercial awareness and financial acumen
  • A degree in finance, economics or statistics is preferred.
  • A knowledge of analytical techniques and decision tools. Strong aptitude in credit decisioning, strategy setting, and gathering business requirements.
  • 5+ years of business experience, preferably in the financial industry / risk management or in statistical modelling / data analysis.
  • Understanding of data analysis and analytical machine learning / AI techniques and methodologies.
  • A willingness to travel.
