An exciting opportunity for an experienced copywriter to join a dynamic Marketing Team working within Experian Consumer Services, the consumer-facing division within Experian Plc, a FT30 company. They would be responsible for overhauling its copy, supporting the launch of market-leading consumer products and helping to shake up the finance industry.
Reporting to the Head of Content, the position of in house copywriter will tell the story of how Experian can help consumers to manage their finances. They will be able to make personal finance products easier to understand and help consumers get the products that are best for them by guiding them to use their data to their best advantage. The person should be passionate about making personal finance simpler for consumers so they can access the right products for them at the lowest rates.
This dedicated specialist will serve the growing needs for richer content around our comparison services offering, which allows consumers to compare loans, credit cards and mortgages. They will develop a deep understanding of the comparison products together with their relevance to the audience needs and help to engage and communicate our offering across a variety of mediums, including the Experian.co.uk website, customer accounts, email and CRM programs and social media channels.
They will be working closely with a growing team of UX designers, copywriters, product managers, and digital marketers.Objectives
Deliver engaging product/service content, including within customer accounts, to optimise the user experience in collaboration with product managers and UX designers
Work with the onsite team to regularly update web content that reflects new product features and developments
Produce high-quality copy for the CRM team for customer communications
Work with the SEO team to optimise content for search, boosting our ranking on our key verticals (mortgages, loans and credit cards) to be ahead of our competitors
Deliver creative ways to present the content so it is truly multimedia (i.e. videos and interactive tools in addition to articles and blogs)
Research and suggest timely and news agenda issues that provide a hook /angle for content, and subsequently produce a regular stream of topical, creative and engaging content that significantly improves awareness of Experian in the comparison market and boosts its reputation
Help to increase and encourage engagement of content through social channels, encouraging lead generation
Contribute to Content’s measurement model to understand the level of engagement, and continuously make suggestions for improvement
The role will work in an integrated way with stakeholders, particularly in the comparison function, and channel owners across as well as specific project deliveries. This is a busy role so the new digital copywriter need to ensure the work is managed transparently and in a client-orientated way. Typical deliverables will span the following:

- Social, Content & Marcomms
Who are we looking for?
Experience writing for the web on personal finance issues (particularly credit cards, loans and mortgages), ideally in a regulated environment.
You will have worked on large integrated campaigns and digital projects and successfully communicated complex (either technical or financial) concepts to audiences with varying levels of awareness and understanding
You have a versatile writing portfolio and have written for different purposes: consumer education, technical copywriting, marketing materials, legal & compliance etc.
Solid understanding of content design and UX principles (including past experience of working closely with UX and product designers)
You have worked directly to interpret and apply a brand essence, positioning and tone of voice
You appreciate the different requirements of text across multidevice: desktop, mobile and tablet, and can adapt your execution accordingly
You have a strong understanding of SEO principles and how these reflect on content across choice of topics, language, tagging, metadata and onsite link architecture.
You can hit the ground running, you are proactive and confident in your approach
You can demonstrate resilience and the ability to adapt to changing requirements
