As the Sales Manager for Background Checking you will be responsible for the development of new business as well as retention of contracted revenue. You will be leading a well-established and close team to ensure we hit the businesses growth targets whilst developing and implementing strategy. You will have an understanding of business, forecasting, leadership, background checking products, services. You will work horizontally across verticals in GTM and lead the specialist’s area in continued growth by leading the team to success using our clear business plan and strategy.
Responsible for:
  • Background Checking business development team
  • Tasked with hitting our budget of £10.5m
  • Leadership of a team of approx.11 direct reports
  • Management/monitoring of finances, sales and consulting KPI’s (revenue, costs, CRM etc.)
  • Collaborating with relevant vertical market heads to agree interaction with account management, solutions and product teams to maximise resource against potential for growth
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the achievement of the overall new business ACV and In Year Revenue target for the sector (driving profitable business)
  • Supporting the development of the Background Checking sector business plan and strategy. Implementing this to deliver sustainable double digit growth
  • Drive the sale of value propositions within the business specific market via the sales team
  • Devise negotiation strategies and tactics for key contracts, personally leading negotiation teams where appropriate
  • On-going collection and dissemination of detailed competitor information and market developments (in conjunction with the relevant account management teams),
  • Provide direction and leadership to the team to ensure the achievement of business goals by;
  • Provide Accurate and Timely Sales Forecasting and Planning Processes by:
  • Protect and enhance client and other external relationships which are critical to the success of the organisation by:
  • Ensure that clients have a smooth and harmonious experience of the sales process delivered by Experian by:
Job Requirements and Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of Background Checking products and services
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to drive high performance
  • Confident and persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and client stakeholders
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the background checking market
