The Sales Director, Strategic Accounts is responsible for software, analytics and/or consulting solution sales for Experian’s largest Financial Services clients. You will collaborate with the Strategic Client Partner (SCP) sales team and your DA business unit partners to develop and execute comprehensive account plan(s) to over-achieve against aggressive annual revenue / new sales targets. You will work closely with the Experian sales leadership team to develop and manage a robust pipeline within an established SCP client base. With direct responsibility for the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing, you will develop and nurture strategic relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders. Bringing thought leadership, creative solution design and compelling ROI to each opportunity uncovered, you will lead the effort to position Experian as a true strategic advisor, building long-term partnerships and negotiating multi-year contracts which provide market-differentiating value for our largest North American Financial Services clients.

The candidate must possess a high degree of intrinsic motivation and passion to win, established intellectual horsepower, excellent communication skills and the emotional intelligence required to navigate complex deal structure and secure stakeholder commitment, both internally and externally.

To summarize, the successful candidate will:

  • Identify, aggressively pursue and close new business and renewal opportunities
  • Develop new and existing customer relationships by leveraging a consultative sales approach that results in increased sales and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to establish consultative business relationships with senior C-level executives
  • Be responsible for sales pipeline, account plan development and budget/goal management
  • Perform territory management functions including regular sales reporting and forecasting
  • Work closely with Experian consulting, presales, account management, delivery/support and product management to nurture the development of strategic solutions for this market that measurably add client value and position Experian DSS favorably against our competition
  • Meet or exceed aggressive annual revenue and new contract targets
  • Positively represent the company in a professional manner at all times

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

  • BS / BA Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years successful sales and/or consulting experience, in direct contributor and/or management capacity
  • Track record of growing a business over time, with proven year-over-year goal over-achievement
  • Experience with strategic solution selling of large, multifaceted consulting, analytics, custom modeling and/or software engagements
  • Known as an expert and thought leader by clients looking to solve business challenges
  • Self-starter with ability to think strategically and respond tactically
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented, growing public company with high expectations
  • A solid understanding of credit / fraud data, customer decisioning and risk scoring applications
  • Passion for driving results, developing people, ensuring client satisfaction, and securing competitive wins
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, goal setting, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to develop, implement and manage key strategic initiatives
  • Outstanding people management, collaboration, leadership and developmental skills
