Experian pH is a data-driven B2B marketing, risk and analytics consultancy. We work with FTSE 100 companies transforming how they approach problems using techniques and models developed over 25 years. At Experian pH you can expect to work on projects to improve our data processing, supporting projects for large and widely known businesses from sectors including banking, utilities and telecommunications. Ultimately you will be helping to provide those businesses with a better understanding of their customers and the people behind them, giving them the better and faster tools to add new customers, automate decision making and guard against fraud and failure.

You will be proficient in one of either Python or Java and have experience building data focused applications in one of these languages.We’re looking for someone to help us define and develop strategies for our streams, APIs and databases to work well together.


Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse, design and develop scalable and stable data processing applications, APIs and their interfaces
  • Create and maintain automated test suites
  • Define and develop logging and monitoring strategies
  • Create technical documents
  • Provide support to other members of the team, ensuring that best practice is adhered to
  • Understand and participate in performance management processes
  • Continuously improve knowledge of chosen field or programming language and suggest new and improved solutions to old challenges


Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

What are we looking for?
  • Science based degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • A self-starter able to take on a project and run with it, or research and track down particularly knotty problems
  • Able to talk about technology to non-technical people
  • Organised, identifying, prioritising and delegating tasks within a team
  • Logical and analytical with the ability to see the implications of technical findings and issues on the end client experience
  • Passionate about programming with a genuine interest in data
  • Have ideas about experienced guiding a team technically
  • Be proficient in one of Python or Java
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or Openshift

It’d be nice if you have:
  • Batch/shell programming
  • Used Kafka or Solr
  • Understanding of data and data structures and their value for use in analysis, marketing and CRM
  • Experience with data modelling
  • Relevant industry experience ideally working on and successfully delivering data-led projects
