Applications/Integrations Operations ManagerThis position will perform as an Operations Manager, focusing on Applications, Integrations and DevOps in the Center of Excellence. Must have strong knowledge and proven experience in managing development operations teams, delivering complex business solutions and implementing software integrations. 2. Role Purpose:
  • Responsible for effective and reliable operations of the systems and working with other teams to maintain a 99.95% availability
  • Management responsibilities over development team by assigning and tracking tasks for the team which is made up of a combination of employees, professional services consultants and contractors
  • Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated plans
  • Provides thought leadership and knowledge of application in support of projects and enhancements
3. Major Job Functions:Functional Responsibilities
  • Manages the activities of the development staff, including forecasting, time tracking, vacation planning, goal setting, employee evaluation and career development.
  • Responsible for understanding system requirements, tasking and estimating features, and following work management life-cycle processes such as keeping work items current in JIRA.
  • Creates technical documentation including approach documents, impact analysis, and physical and conceptual topology and component diagrams.
  • Understands version control, small check-ins, labeling, and versioning and deployment best practices for both source code and database deployments.
  • Participates in demand planning to build short-term and long-term project plans and roadmaps.
  • Monitors and reports progress, problems and solutions in a timely manner. Follows through to ensure dollars and time estimates are realized within planned limits.
  • Creates, executes, and maintains multi-tier staff support plans for during and after business hours.
  • Effectively communicates to department management and business sponsors the status of projects and issues as they relate to the development process.
  • Provides clear, consistent, regular communication with all project stakeholders at all levels, including presentations to senior management, creating agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the applications users and support teams on all aspects of application deployment, training and support, including: Installation, Configuration, First and second tier support.
  • Identifies and resolves project issues, including issue tracking and escalation.
  • Actively participates in applications planning/strategy meetings and provides input on the most appropriate and effective use of applications.
  • Identify potential process improvement areas and suggest options and recommend approaches.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:Education:
    • Bachelor degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience. Master Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of design patterns and best practices
  • Knowledge of OO programming and software design patterns
  • Extensive knowledge of project planning tools such as Excel, Microsoft Project, and JIRA
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Strong software analysis, design and development skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
    • Minimum of 3 years directly managing IT operations teams responsible for the support and maintenance of a 24x7 available service. Experience with a global team environment is a plus
    • Proven problem solving skills and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflows as well and assignments are required. Must possess a responsible, detail-oriented, results-driven work ethic
    • Proactive and demonstrates ability to make decisions; must show initiative to solve problems in alignment with department direction without detailed instructions
    • Excellent skills and considerable experience in interpersonal relationships including managing, motivating, and setting policies for technical staff.
    • Highly developed skills in written and verbal communications, ability to work in high pressure production environments, manage to budget, manage to schedule and ability to working with senior management.
