Experian’s Technology team is seeking an experienced Scrum Master.
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master. The person will act as a servant leader by coaching and mentoring a new software development team with the goal of leading them to become a self-directed, high-performing team. This position is responsible for facilitating all scrum ceremonies, coaching and mentoring members, helping the Product Owner manage the backlog and release planning.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for driving effective scrum ceremonies including daily scrum, backlog grooming, Sprint planning, demos and retrospectives
  • Responsible for tracking and distributing relevant metrics and reports periodically to show team progress and velocity
  • Identify, understand, and track impediments; help remove them and drive improvements to optimize how the team works
  • Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlog; help Product Owner to manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications
  • Maximize the use of technology to encourage close collaboration of distributed (on shore and offshore) teams of product managers, developers to resource, define, and schedule activities required to develop and launch new features.
  • Assess the Agile Maturity of the Scrum team and organization to coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Help build a safe and trusting team environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement, with an emphasis on problem solving
  • Perform as an Agile Coach working across the Program Portfolio to help increase the agile maturity of the software development teams; Will help improve, manage, and grow the agile process and best practices


Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience with widely successful agile practices: Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SaFe Essential module), Kanban etc.
  • Skilled in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Must possess and utilize exceptional communication skills to keep teams operating at maximum efficiency while also insuring senior leaders and executive management are informed of progress at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high performing software development teams
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impact to quality of work
  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external vendors, internal partners
  • Demonstrated strength in problem definition and resolution
  • Moderate to expert-level knowledge of Atlassian (JIRA, Jira Agile, Confluence) or other agile tools to measure team productivity and report metrics
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Ideally in Business or Computer Science/Engineering)
  • One or more related certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
  • 4+ yrs. of project management experience in technical development or consulting environment
  • 3+ yrs. of experience playing Scrum master/Agile Project Manager especially in large programs involving multiple scrum teams
  • Experience in a waterfall-to-agile transition is a plus
