The CIS Product Delivery is responsible for leveraging new and emerging open source technologies to solve key technical challenges for our business and clients as well as integrating new datasets, products, and applications acquired by Experian.

We are looking for an experienced technical leader in Platform Engineering to help build and lead our engineering team. As a Director, Platform Engineering, you will work independently and with other software leaders, engineers as well as program, product organizations. In this role you will be responsible for applying your broad and deep knowledge of platform engineering to create scalable solutions with seamless experiences for our data platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evolve and establish technical standards that meet the business goals of platform and customer experiences
  • Passion to build scalable and highly available platform services
  • Mentor engineering teams through formal and informal discussions, design reviews, technical presentations
  • Develop external technical partnerships with open source communities and vendors as appropriate to enable a holistic platform for customers
  • Hands-on leadership role to drive engineering efforts for our Data Platform
  • Provide expertise and leadership in problem solving, root cause analysis during systems outages, and championing a methodological approach to troubleshooting
  • Provide thought leadership around engineering to customers, partners, community and internal teams and most importantly be a change agent
  • Clearly define the team’s objectives and align with the company’s strategy and goals
  • Participate with senior management in developing long term product and technology roadmap
  • Be the domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices
  • Work collaboratively with our scaled agile (SAFe) teams to rapidly deliver solutions

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 5+ years of people management experience
  • Extensive experience in engineering management with a focus on building highly secure, reliable and scalable platforms
  • Experience in an engineering or technical role delivering engineering solutions with solid implementation of secure application development methodologies
  • Experience in owning consumer facing mission critical systems and working under SLA’s on uptime, performance
  • Extensive experience in on-premise and public cloud AWS/GCP/Azure deployments to provide innovative solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of programming languages especially Java, Python, Go, C/C++
  • Knowledge of Data Technologies like RDBMS, Spark, HBase, Kafka, Hive, Pig and other ETL technologies
  • Experience in managing the technical and collaboration challenges of integrating a broad set of dependencies
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile Development methodologies
